We are committed to making sure that staff have a positive working experience at SBS. And this starts with a good induction and onboarding experience.
1. You have your perfect candidate, the reference checks are done. What’s next, how to issue a contract?
- Part Time/Full Time/Casual Role advertised on Myrecruitment+:
- Part Time/Full Time/Casual Role advertised outside Myrecruitment+: Fill in form, get the relevant approvals and send to People and Culture for drafting.
- Contractor/Freelancer/Talents
Note: it takes up to 3 days to issue a contract out.
2. You have the contract for your new starter, what’s next and how do you set them up?
- External employee: follow the Onboarding checklist that guides you through all the steps of the first few weeks.
- Internal transfer: speak to your P&C Business Partner/Consultant
- Contractors/Freelancer/Talents most of the time come with their own equipment so you won’t need to follow the regular Onboarding Checklist. You might need to contact Helpdesk to set up a computer.
3. I’m setting up my new starter: what course do they need to complete for their onboarding (face to face/virtual, e-learning)?
- Only Full Time/ Part Time employees on a contract longer than 6 months get a virtual face to face induction. For more information about how it happens and how to organise it, contact your P&C consultant
- All Employees will need to complete compulsory compliance and induction e-learning when joining SBS. As a manager, you don’t need to do anything; your employee will automatically receive the links with instructions to follow.
- Contractors/Freelancers/Talents/Work Experience also need to follow an online induction, that is slightly different to employees. Here’s how to proceed.
