16. EMERGENCY SERVICES LEAVE
16.1. Employees may, in accordance with the NES, access unpaid community service leave to engage in voluntary emergency services activities.
16.2. SBS may at its discretion grant paid leave to Employees who are members of a registered emergency services body (e.g. State Emergency Services, Rural Fire Service, etc.) to attend regular training, responses, ceremonial duties, and reasonable recovery time.
16.3. Employees who take Emergency Services leave must provide SBS with evidence of their attendance at emergency services activities and the duration of those activities.
16.4. Employees who are granted paid emergency services leave will be paid the salary rate that they would have received had they been at work.
