18. ATTENDANCE AT INDUSTRIAL PROCEEDINGS
18.1. SBS may at its discretion grant paid and/or unpaid leave to Employees to prepare for and attend industrial proceedings. For the purpose of this clause, industrial proceedings are proceedings under the FW Act or before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
18.2. Leave will not be granted to more than 2 Employees at any one time in respect of the same industrial proceeding.
18.3. Should SBS grant leave under this clause:
(a) leave to conduct an industrial proceeding as an advocate will be paid on the basis of the salary rate that the Employee would have received had they been at work; and
(b) leave to prepare a case will be unpaid, and will not exceed 3 months in total in any 12 month period.
