46. REST PERIODS
46.1. Employees will receive a break of at least 11 hours between finishing work (including overtime) and commencing ordinary duty on their next shift.
46.2. Where an Employee would normally be required to commence work at a time which, due to the working of overtime or non-rostered ordinary hours, is within 11 hours of last finishing work, they will:
(a) subject to clause 46.2(b) below, not be required to attend work until they have had 11 consecutive hours off duty, without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during the absence; or
(b) if required by SBS to resume or continue ordinary duty without having had 11 consecutive hours off duty:
(i) be paid at double time until they have had 11 consecutive hours off duty; and
(ii) when no longer required to work, not be required to work again until he or she has had 11 consecutive hours off, without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during that absence.
46.3. The provisions of this clause do not apply to Emergency Duty (as dealt with in clause 47) unless the actual time worked, excluding travelling time, is at least 3 hours on each call.
46.4. The provisions of this clause only apply to Employees who are eligible for overtime payments.
