The Candidate Development Fund (CDF) is a centralised funding investment of up to $10,000 for an employee who meets the eligibility criteria, to develop the required skill and/or capability to achieve the required performance standards within six months of their appointment to an advertised, vacant role within SBS.

We recognise that by investing in development, we strengthen the skills and talent of our workforce, as employees who see potential for advancement are more inclined to stay and grow with SBS. We believe that internal mobility can diversify and strengthen SBS, ensuring our staff are capable of leading SBS into the future with continued readiness and ability to contribute effectively to continuous improvement and the achievement of our strategic goals.
While the CDF intends to better equalise internal candidates with evidenced capability gaps through a hiring process, this does not automatically mean that the internal candidate will be appointed to the role. SBS will make an assessment of all candidates and, taking the CDF into account, make a fair selection decision based on the needs of SBS.
