All prospective or appointed staff members must have the relevant right to work in Australia before they start their employment with SBS, and it is the staff member's responsibility to ensure they have valid work rights for the duration of their employment with SBS.
SBS does not offer employer sponsored visa options to temporary visa holders.
In very limited circumstances, where a role is a particular skilled occupation and it can be evidenced (ie. through unsuccessful recruitment processes) that the skilled role cannot be filled by an Australian worker with the relevant work rights, an exception may be requested to the relevant Divisional Director, and would be subject to P&C and Managing Director endorsement prior to any application process.
